By Bone and Moon: Traditional Witchcraft, a Journey into Spirit
For centuries, the hidden practices of historical, operative Witchcraft existed in the shadows—passed down through rural folklore and secret lineages. This was the magic of the common people who lived close to the land, those for whom spirits, charms, and enchantments were an intrinsic part of daily life. Within these communities lived specialists—Pellars, Witches, and Cunning Folk—for whom practical magic was a vital, lived reality.
Join author Kerry Wisner to explore how this historical craft endures today as a living, result-driven system of Practical Magic. In this discussion, you will be introduced to the traditional working tools of the craft—including the Spirit Gad, the Wind Roarer, the Stang, and the Alraun root—and encounter the diverse beings that inhabit the realms of the Witch, from Familiar Spirits to the ‘Dame’ cloaked in Red.
Kerry Wisner has devoted much of his life to the study and practice of the Magical Arts. His training began early under a practitioner of Traditional Witchcraft who called her lineage The Willow Path, a tradition rooted in the Basque region of Europe. He studied with her until her passing, then continued to expand his work through Hermetics, Astrology, and other Western esoteric disciplines. Kerry has also conducted extensive research into the magical practices of Ancient Egypt, drawing on respected academic scholarship to inform his work. Kerry is the author of several books including:
- The Willow Path: Witchcraft, Hermetics & the Hidden Wisdom of the Magical Arts
- Horns of the Moon: Techniques in Traditional Magical Arts
- The Art: A Grimoire of Traditional Witchcraft
- Eye of the Sun: An Introduction to Ancient Egyptian Magic

Plant Walking the Poison Path: Shadow Work with the Baneful Allies
We approach our shadow the way we approach a poison garden – carefully, respectfully, and never without asking first. In this workshop, we’ll go beyond folklore and correspondences into actual practice with the baneful plants: Belladonna, who opens the eyes; Henbane, who stirs the storm; Hemlock, who holds the boundary; Foxglove, who guards the heart. You’ll learn a consent-based approach to working with plant spirits, and then, through guided meditation, you’ll approach one of these allies yourself and ask permission to begin. Some of you will receive a yes, some of you may receive a no. Both of these answers are the beginning of the work.
No plants will be ingested or handled. Bring a journal, and bring whatever you’ve been avoiding.
Kristina DeMarco is a certified herbalist, energy healer, and owner of The Herbalist’s Apprentice on the coast of Maine. Her relationship with plants began in childhood – barefoot in the woods, gathering wild blueberries, making sun tea from peppermint beside the lake – long before she had formal language for what she already knew: the plants were listening back.
Her practice weaves traditional herbalism with plant-spirit work, vibrational medicine, and ritual; a path walked in consent, where the plants are asked, not taken. She creates teas, tinctures, oils, salves, and flower essences, but believes working with plants extends far beyond what can be harvested.
Kristina has taught the poison path for years, blending folklore, history, storytelling, guided meditation, and plant-spirit connection into workshops that are immersive and deeply practical. Participants can expect to leave with more than information – they leave with a way of approaching the unseen, in the garden and in themselves.
She believes the plants that frighten us most are often the ones holding our deepest medicine.
